Pilot University Coordination Center has produced 21 products such as sausage, disinfectant, cologne and soap with a long shelf life from propolis produced by bees to protect the hive. Pilot University Coordination Center Coordinator Prof. Dr. Nevzat Esim highlighted: "Honey is the most essential bee product, however there are also available bee products with really high economic value, like royal jelly, propolis, bee venom, and pollen. We provide training for our producers about the need to produce these products as well. By means of these products,we reveal the potential for products other than honey to be used. 21 different products were obtained from propolis by Bingöl University, which was chosen as a pilot university in the "Agriculture and Basin Based Development" program of Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization of Universities, carried out by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)”. Pilot University Coordination Center (PİKOM) has initiated a study for producers to obtain valuable bee products as well as honey. Through the studies carried out in this field for about 3 years, PİKOM has obtained 21 products such as sausage, disinfectant, cologne and soap by means of the necessary processes from propolis with very high antimicrobial value, which is produced by bees to protect the hive. It is planned to start mass production with the support of entrepreneurs and businessmen.
