Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik, has achieved a significant academic distinction by being elected as a Full Member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) during the elections held as part of the Academy’s 63rd General Assembly.

The universities eligible to receive an award within the scope of the “Sports-Friendly Campus” project, carried out by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to support students and staff in maintaining healthy lifestyle habits and engaging in sports, have been announced. In this regard, Bingöl University has earned the title of “Sports-Friendly Campus.”

Bingöl University continues to reap the rewards of its academic, scientific, and institutional development efforts, carried out in line with its Next-Generation University vision, in international rankings. According to the 2026 World University Rankings announced by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), one of the world’s respected higher education ranking organizations, Bingöl University ranked 1,854th among 21,291 universities evaluated worldwide.

Bingöl University’s 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony was held with the participation of Bingöl Governor Cahit Çelik, Bingöl Deputy Mayor Hasan Çeçen, Bingöl University Rector Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Sabri Küyük, Provincial Police Chief Beyti Kalaycı, protocol members, academics, students, and their families. The program began with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem. Bingöl Governor Cahit Çelik, Bingöl Deputy Mayor Hasan Çeçen, and Bingöl University Rector Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik each delivered speeches during the ceremony.

The opening ceremony of the Anatolian Spring Symposium on Dentistry, organized in collaboration between Bingöl University Faculty of Dentistry and Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry, was held successfully. The symposium, which began at the Faculty of Dentistry Conference Hall, attracted significant interest from academics, students, and healthcare professionals.

The Departments of History, English Language and Sciences at Bingöl University have been accredited by FEDEK, bringing their educational quality in line with national and international standards.

The opening program of the “Bingöl: History, Culture and Civilization Symposium”, organized by Bingöl University in coordination with the Bingöl Research, Application and Research Center and the Bingöl Journalists Association, was successfully held. The symposium, which took place between May 14–16, 2026, brought together academics, researchers, students, and numerous invited guests.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz received Bingöl Mayor Erdal Arıkan, Bingöl University Rector Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik, and their accompanying delegation at the Presidential Complex. The meeting provided an opportunity for a high-level evaluation of ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing Bingöl’s resilience against disasters and strengthening its urban infrastructure.

Organized by students of Bingöl University, TEDx Bingöl University was held on Thursday, April 16, at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Congress Center.

As part of its internationalization vision, Bingöl University has taken another significant step by opening the International Student Center, which aims to provide comprehensive support for international students in social, academic, and cultural areas. Established under the coordination of the International Student Office, the center is designed to help students from diverse geographical backgrounds adapt more quickly to university life and enhance their academic success.
