Atatürk's Principles and Revolution History Department was established following the General Assembly meeting of the Council of Higher Education in accordance with the law.

The purpose of the Atatürk Principles and Revolution History Department, which is a legal entity affiliated to the Bingöl University Rectorate, is to ensure the adoption of Atatürk's principles by explaining the basic characteristics of the Republic and the achievements by examining Atatürk's works, lifestyle, political and military understanding. In addition, to carry out the undergraduate education activities of the Atatürk's Principles and Revolution History course given in our university, and to introduce our students to Atatürk's revolutions in political and social fields to ensure that these revolutions are adopted by the younger generations. Along with all this, supporting all kinds of Atatürk's modernization activities, ensuring that Atatürk's thought is perceived in its true aspect, purifying it from dogmas and contributing to keeping this thought alive are among the aims of our department. Moreover, our department assigns the instructors to teach Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution lessons taught in various faculties and colleges of Bingöl University
