Bingöl University’s Next Generation University Vision Yields Results Internationally
Bingöl University continues to reap the rewards of its academic, scientific, and institutional development efforts, carried out in line with its Next-Generation University vision, in international rankings. According to the 2026 World University Rankings announced by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), one of the world’s respected higher education ranking organizations, Bingöl University ranked 1,854th among 21,291 universities evaluated worldwide.
With this result, Bingöl University succeeded in ranking among the top 2,000 universities in the world and also achieved the distinction of being among the top 8.8 percent of universities globally.
While 47 universities from Türkiye were included in the CWUR 2026 ranking, Bingöl University achieved a significant success by ranking first among state universities in Türkiye that were established in 2006 or later and do not have a faculty of medicine.
In the ranking, which is based on criteria such as quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, and research performance, Bingöl University drew attention with its performance in scientific productivity, research capacity, and international academic visibility. The university’s recent efforts to strengthen its research infrastructure and increase the number of scientific publications and projects have begun to be reflected in international evaluations.

Commenting on the achievement, Rector Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik stated that the Next-Generation University vision has begun to produce concrete results and said:
“As Bingöl University, we are greatly pleased that our efforts in education, research, innovation, and social contribution are being recognized at the international level. This achievement in the CWUR 2026 ranking is the result of the dedicated work of our academic and administrative staff, the efforts of our students, and our university’s approach focused on scientific production. It is a source of pride for us to see that the work carried out by our university in various fields is gaining recognition on the international stage.”
Rector Çelik also stated that they will continue their efforts with determination to make this achievement sustainable and thanked all academic and administrative staff who contributed to this success.
In line with its Next-Generation University vision, Bingöl University continues to increase its global visibility and academic impact through its work in education, research, social contribution, and internationalization.
