Rector Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik Attends 6th International Youth Studies Congress as Honorary President
The 6th International Youth Studies Congress, held in Fethiye, Muğla between 29 October and 2 November 2025, brought together academics, researchers and students from various universities and countries.
Rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik, attended the congress as Honorary President and delivered a protocol speech prior to the panel sessions. In his address, Prof. Dr. Çelik underlined that the active involvement of young people in scientific production processes constitutes the foundation of social development. He also emphasized that international academic collaborations open up new horizons for young researchers and stated that, in this respect, the congress serves as a significant meeting platform.
Within the scope of the congress, Prof. Dr. Çelik delivered a presentation titled “Future of Sport Sciences: The Meeting Point of Science, Technology and Innovation.” Drawing considerable interest, the presentation explored how sport sciences are being redefined through interdisciplinary approaches, digital transformation, artificial intelligence applications, data-driven performance analyses and innovative sports technologies.
Touching on a wide range of future research areas in sports technologies—from wearable sensors to biomechanical analysis systems, from AI-supported training models to injury risk analysis—Prof. Dr. Çelik highlighted the opportunities that emerging scientific paradigms offer to young researchers. Highly appreciated by the participants, the presentation provided young academics not only with an overview of current scientific trends but also with a visionary and innovative perspective that is expected to shape the future of sport sciences.
The congress was organized in cooperation with Bingöl University, Mersin University, Istanbul Esenyurt University, Balıkesir University, Osmaniye Korkut Ata University, Kilis 7 Aralık University, Trabzon Eurasia University, Istanbul Topkapı University, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Hakkari University, Ardahan University, Gümüşhane University, Iğdır University, Istanbul Galata University, Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University, Samarkand State University, Samarkand Silk Road Tourism and Cultural Heritage University, Bayan-Ulgii Mongolian State University of Education, Kazakhstan International University of Tourism and Hospitality, and Marmaris Youth Association.
Held under the theme “Youth Is Our Future,” the congress addressed a wide range of topics including youth, education, cultural interaction, digitalization and sustainable development. By bringing academics together on a common platform, the event aimed to foster cooperation among institutions and develop joint solutions.
Papers presented by scholars from different countries discussed solution-oriented approaches to the social, economic and cultural challenges faced by young people, contributing to the formation of a shared vision for the future. The event not only promoted international knowledge exchange in the field of youth studies but also strengthened cultural interaction among participants.
Academic Cooperation Protocol with Kyrgyzstan Jalal-Abad State University
Within the framework of the VI International Youth Research Congress, an official protocol was signed between Bingol University and Kyrgyzstan Jalal-Abad State University to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation.
Under the protocol, the two universities agreed on mutual cooperation in the following areas: sharing academic knowledge and experience, exchange of academic staff and students, development of joint research projects, and conducting scientific meetings and joint publication activities.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Rector Çelik stated that the cooperation would contribute to both academic interaction between the two countries and regional scientific development, saying:
“We are pleased to strengthen our academic ties with our sister universities in Kyrgyzstan. This protocol will enhance the international experiences of our students and academics and further advance our capacity for scientific collaboration.”
