Bingöl University has been awarded the “Nutrition-Friendly and Physically Active Workplace Certificate” in recognition of its efforts to promote healthy living across the campus. The certificate was presented to Rector Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik by Bingöl Provincial Health Director Dr. Samet Tatlı.
Within the framework of this initiative, the Sports-Friendly Campus Commission, established under the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, carried out comprehensive work based on the criteria required for the certificate. Following inspections conducted by auditors from the Bingöl Provincial Health Directorate, Bingöl University successfully met 18 out of 21 criteria, achieving a score of 93 and thereby qualifying for the certificate.
The university continues its efforts to enhance the quality of campus life. In this regard, it aims to obtain the “Sports-Friendly Campus” title from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in 2026, and the “Healthy Campus” label from the International University Sports Federation (FISU) by the end of 2026.
