Bingöl University Receives Award for “Most Successful University Supporting Urban Transformation and Urban Studies”
Bingöl University has been granted a prestigious award in recognition of its successful work in the fields of urbanism, urban transformation and the development of sustainable living spaces. Owing to its contributions to the urban ecosystem across Türkiye, the university was selected as the recipient of the “Most Successful University Supporting Urban Transformation and Urban Studies” award. The award was presented to Bingöl University Rector Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik at a ceremony.
In his speech at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Çelik stated that the award is not only an indicator of success but also a concrete reflection of Bingöl University’s mission of regional development. He emphasized that, in recent years, the university’s collaborations with local administrations, public institutions and sector representatives have significantly strengthened efforts in sustainable urban development. Prof. Dr. Çelik said:
“Universities are not merely institutions that produce academic knowledge; they are also strategic actors that contribute to the development of cities, regions and societies. Through our projects on urban transformation, disaster management, environmentally friendly construction and infrastructure development, we continue to fulfil both our scientific and social responsibilities.”
